Put your help center to work in Zapier.
Tell Slack, Jira or Linear what readers searched for and could not find, and which articles they rated unhelpful. Sync, draft and publish articles from Notion, Google Sheets or ChatGPT, without duplicates. 9 triggers, 10 actions and 3 searches.
Private for now, so we add you by invite. Already a customer? Sign in and request it in one click.
Pair HelpCenter.io with Slack, Jira, Linear, Notion, Google Sheets, ChatGPT or any other app you use with Zapier. See every trigger, action and search.
Hear what readers could not find, where your team already works.
The searches that came back empty and the articles rated unhelpful are the cheapest support tickets to prevent. These Zaps put them in front of the people who can fix them, and keep your help center in step with where your content is written.
-
Close the loop on what readers could not find
Create Jira issues for questions your help center does not answer
- HelpCenter.io:New Unanswered Search
- Jira:Create Issue
Each question opens one issue, however long it stays unanswered, with how many readers searched for it and the closest article you have today.
-
Close the loop on what readers could not find
Send unhelpful-article feedback to Slack, with what the reader said
- HelpCenter.io:New Reader Feedback
- Slack:Send Channel Message
The easiest one to start with. A reader who changes their vote, or adds a message later, triggers it again. Their IP address and email are never sent.
-
Close the loop on what readers could not find
Draft help articles with ChatGPT for unanswered searches
- HelpCenter.io:New Unanswered Search
- ChatGPT:Conversation
- HelpCenter.io:Create or Update Article
The draft is never published by the Zap, and a second run updates the same draft instead of adding another.
-
Close the loop on what readers could not find
Create Linear issues for articles readers keep rating unhelpful
- HelpCenter.io:Article Needs Attention
- Linear:Create Issue
With the unhelpful share, the views over 30 days and when it was last updated. At most once a month per article, so one being fixed does not file a new issue on every check.
-
Keep it in step with where you write
Publish Notion pages to your help center
- Notion:Updated Data Source Item
- Notion:Get Page and Children
- HelpCenter.io:Create or Update Article
Edit the page ten times and it is still one article. Images are copied onto your help center, so Notion's links, which expire after an hour, keep working.
-
Keep it in step with where you write Catalyst
Let ChatGPT propose fixes to low-rated articles, published after review
- HelpCenter.io:Article Needs Attention
- ChatGPT:Conversation
- HelpCenter.io:Propose Article Edit
The rewrite waits as a staged change. Readers keep seeing the live article, and nothing goes live until a person publishes it.
-
Tell people when something changes
Post a weekly help-center report to Slack
- Schedule by Zapier:Every Week
- HelpCenter.io:Get Help Center Report
- Slack:Send Channel Message
Views, visitors, searches and ratings with the change since last week, the most-read articles and the questions nobody answered, every Monday.
-
Tell people when something changes
Announce new help articles in Slack or Microsoft Teams
- HelpCenter.io:Article Published
- Slack:Send Channel Message
Instant, and "Only public articles" keeps private and link-only articles out of public channels.
More to try: record a CSAT survey's vote on the article an agent sent, find the best article for a new support conversation, or add an article to the FAQ section on your pricing page as soon as it is published. A Zap with more than one action is a multi-step Zap, which Zapier includes on its paid plans.
9 triggers, 10 actions and 3 searches.
The whole integration, step by step. Three of the triggers are reader signals the Zendesk, Intercom, Help Scout and Document360 apps on Zapier do not send: the searches nobody could answer, what readers said when an article did not help, and the well-read articles they keep rating down.
Triggers (9)
What starts a Zap. Article triggers are instant; the reader signals are checked on Zapier's schedule.
-
Article Published Instant
An article goes live: published on creation, or a draft published later.
-
New Reader Feedback Polling
A reader rates an article, by default when they say it did not help and tell you why.
-
New Unanswered Search Polling
Readers keep searching for something no article answers.
-
Article Needs Attention Polling
A well-read article keeps getting rated unhelpful over 30 days. At most once a month per article.
-
New Comment Polling
A reader comments on an article, by default when the comment waits for your approval.
-
Article Updated Instant
An article is saved, from the dashboard, the API or an AI agent.
-
New Draft Article Instant
A new draft is created, from the dashboard, an import, the API or an AI agent.
-
Article Moved to Trash Instant
An article is moved to Trash, so a synced copy can follow.
-
New Category Instant
A category is added to your help center.
Actions (10)
What a Zap can do in your help center.
-
Create or Update Article
Creates an article, or updates the one already synced under the same External ID, so a Zap that runs twice never makes a duplicate.
-
Propose Article Edit Catalyst
Saves a new title or body as a staged change your team reviews and publishes. Readers keep seeing the live article.
-
Publish Proposed Edits Catalyst
Publishes the staged changes waiting on an article, for example after an approval in Slack, Jira or a form.
-
Update Article
Changes an article straight away. To have someone review it first, use Propose Article Edit.
-
Upload Image
Copies an image from a URL onto your help center and returns a permanent link, with ready-to-paste HTML and Markdown.
-
Create Category
Adds a public category, optionally inside another one.
-
Record Reader Feedback
Adds a reader's vote on an article to your ratings, from a chat, a CSAT survey or a support reply that linked it.
-
Reply to Comment
Posts a reply under a reader's comment, or a new comment on an article.
-
Approve or Reject Comment
Publishes or unpublishes a reader comment.
-
Add FAQ to FAQ Section
Adds an FAQ article to one of the FAQ sections you embed on your website.
Searches (3)
What a Zap can look up before its next step.
-
Find Article
Searches your articles the way readers do, best match first.
-
Find Category
Finds a category by name, an exact match first.
-
Get Help Center Report
Views, visitors, searches and ratings with the change since the period before, the most-read articles and the unanswered questions, as fields and as a ready-to-post summary.
Run it every hour and it still does the right thing.
A Zap runs whether anyone is watching or not, so every step is built to be safe to repeat, to leave publishing to people where you want it to, and to reach only what you allowed.
-
No duplicates, however often it runs
Create or Update Article is keyed on an External ID you choose, such as a Notion page ID, a sheet row or a Jira key. The same record always updates the same article.
-
Images that keep working
Images in the content are copied onto your help center as the article is written, so a source whose image links expire, like Notion, still shows them next month.
-
AI drafts, people publish
Propose Article Edit saves a rewrite as a staged change readers do not see, until someone publishes it from the dashboard or a Zap runs Publish Proposed Edits after an approval. On Catalyst.
-
Instant, and signed
Article triggers are instant webhooks. Every delivery is HMAC-signed and checked before a Zap runs, so nothing else can start your Zaps.
-
One connection, several help centers
Connect every help center you run in one go. Each step asks which one it acts on, so one Zap never writes to the wrong one.
-
Your consent screen
Zapier signs in through HelpCenter.io. You tick the help centers it may reach and see what it asks for, and you change or end that in Account → Connected Apps.
Ask once, and Zapier emails your invite.
The integration works today, and it is private for now: Zapier lists an integration in its App Directory after reviewing it and once people use it. Until ours is listed, searching Zapier will not find it, so we add you by invite.
It is on every HelpCenter.io plan. Propose Article Edit and Publish Proposed Edits need staged changes, on Catalyst.
- Ask for access One click on the Zapier card in Settings → Integrations, or an email to support@helpcenter.io if you are not a customer yet.
- Accept Zapier's invite We add your email address, and Zapier sends you the invite. No Zapier account yet? The invite helps you make one.
- Connect and build a Zap Add HelpCenter.io to a Zap, sign in, and tick the help centers it may reach on our consent screen.
How do I get the HelpCenter.io Zapier integration?
Ask for access. Customers request it in one click on the Zapier card in Settings → Integrations, and anyone else can email support@helpcenter.io. We add your email address to the integration, and Zapier emails you the invite.
Why is it available on request?
Zapier lists an integration in its App Directory after reviewing it and once people use it. Until ours is listed, it is private, and a private integration opens only to the people its developer invites. Searching Zapier will not find it yet, so the invite is the way in.
Which HelpCenter.io plans include it?
Every plan, and the 14-day trial. Propose Article Edit and Publish Proposed Edits need staged changes, part of the Catalyst plan. On Zapier's side, a Zap with more than one action is a multi-step Zap, which Zapier includes on its paid plans.
Who on my team can connect it?
Instant triggers set up a webhook on your help center, so they need an Owner or Admin. Editors can use every polling trigger, action and search. Viewers and Translators can read, and articles kept from them come back without their titles or reader messages, as they do in the dashboard.
What can Zapier see, and how do I disconnect it?
Only the help centers you tick on the HelpCenter.io consent screen, with the permissions it shows. Reader feedback arrives without the voter's IP address or email. To change which help centers it reaches, or to disconnect it, open Account → Connected Apps in HelpCenter.io.
Will a Zap that runs twice create duplicate articles?
No. Create or Update Article is keyed on an External ID you choose, such as a Notion page ID or a sheet row's key, so the same record always updates the same article.
Can I build my own integration instead?
Yes. The Zapier integration runs on the same public API and webhooks you can use yourself, documented on developers.helpcenter.io.
Your help center, in the tools your team already uses.
